ap credit and orientation

so i know that ucla ap credit helps you in class standing. i took 14 ap tests in all. got 3 5s, 9 4s and 2 3s. what would this do. second, im planning to double major in math/econ. so for my first quarter im planning on math 31b, chem 20a, econ 1, and some gen ed. what i notice looking on my ucla portal is that some of those common classes (math, chem and econ) are very near filled. will this hurt me a lot. i’m slightly worried as i dont wish to stay beyond 4 years

Ya if you take more AP exams, you increase your class standing (you should already have sophomore standing with those AP classes) meaning your enrollment pass will likely be earlier. However, this has no impact on the orientation enrollment window because all returning UCLA students have already enrolled in classes by the time you’ll be at orientation.

They basically reserve spots in “freshman” classes, such that every orientation group has an opportunity to enroll. It is possible that you would miss out on a class if you’re one of the last ones to enroll during your orientation session but there are many opportunities to get into those classes, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
