I'm only taking the Macro test but on the Haas website, it says I need to get 5's on both to earn credit. If I get a 5 on Macro, does that mean I don't get any credit? Not even some kind of general credit? I'm just wondering if it is worth studying for the AP test.

Just general credit (2.7), but not “course credit”

If you have only AP macroeconomics, then you still need to take Economics 1 for the business major (and economics major if you are interested in that). In that case, AP macroeconomics credit units are supposed to be erased (by UC policy) because you will have taken the college course that covers the same material.

Another option is to take Microeconomics at a community college over the summer, which would allow you to skip Econ 1 for both the economics and business administration majors (assuming you scored well enough on the AP exam). You can take this community college course in another summer for the economics major but not for the business administration major, which requires applicants to the major to complete all pre-requisites at Berkeley after matriculating.
