<p>I'm an incoming Freshman and I'd like to take French Conversation Intermediate. I've taken four years of French, including the AP test in high school, but have not yet found out my AP scores. According to the course catalogue, the prerequisite is stated as "2 or consent of Director of Lower Division". I'm not really sure what this means. Either ways, I'm positive that I don't belong in Beginner French, regardless of my AP score. Does CAL offer some kind of proficiency exam to gage your placement?</p>
<p>I read something saying that if you took 4 years of French with the AP course, you should start off in French 3. College semesters are like years of French in high school. So 4 semesters=4 years.</p>
