AP credit for Pre-med requirements

I feel like this has been asked before, but I'm still not certain. I've read somewhere that med schools dont like you using AP credit for prerequisites. I just dont understand why they would care so much about this if you major in biology and end up taking plenty of upper division biology and chemistry, including organic chemistry. And to be honest, who really uses physics in medicine other than for the "thinking methods"?

if you take upper level courses than the AP courses are irrelevant since the med school requirements are not the intro courses, just a year of biology, a year of physics, etc.

So I won’t be too terribly penalized for taking the AP physics credit?
