AP Credit - how allocated?

I have the following AP Credit which I've looked up for the College of Letters and Science:

US History - 8 units- satisfies American History and Institutions requirement

Calculus - 4 units - satisfies Quantitative Reasoning requirement

Psychology - 4 units - Unassigned

MacroEconomics - 4 units - Unassigned

I also have 4 units of Studio Art and 4 units of Math 5 (Pre-Calc) from summer classes I've taken at UCR and UCI.

Where do these fall under the Arts and Humanities, Society and Culture, Scientific Inquiry GE requirements that I can waive? Thanks for the help...

they don't satisfy any classes. it'd say if they did.

I agree with toxic_waste. GE required classes cannot be waived. The units can count towards freshman/soph/etc. standing.

The only classes you can pass out are: Econ 1 and 2(if you get a 4 or 5), English(if you get a 4 or 5), Language, Chem 20A(if petitioned), Physics 1A(if petitioned, must be Physics C), Math 31A(if you get a 5 on AB or 4 on BC), Math 31B(If you get a 5 on BC), and Psych 10(if you get a 4 or 5)

3s don't get you anything except for language

What's the point of sophomore (and other variations) standing if you still have to do your major-work and GEs?

higher standing=higher enrollment priority

you sign up for classes earlier when you have higher standings

And for other qualification purposes.

And major courses and GEs don't necessarily add up to the 180 units needed to graduate.

How many units will give you sophomore standing? So what does it mean if I have 28 units?

siiigh.....

45 units for sophomore standing

28 is still freshman standing.

So if I take 17 units during Fall Quarter will I have sophomore standing for winter quarter enrollment?

doubt it, since you sign up for winter quarter during fall, and they're not about to give you credit for classes you haven't passed.

Nah, it works.

ya your units for fall will count when signing up for winter classes

Thanks guys...

I have one last quick question. I will be taking classes this summer in sessions A and C totaling 23 units, and thus I will have 51 units.

From UCLA Schedule of Classes: Enrollment -
When determining class level, a student’s current term units are included and enrollment appointment times are assigned based on that projected classification.

So will I be able to register for Fall classes with Sophomore standing because I am enrolled in the classes?

Registering for fall classes your first year aren't determined by class rank, it's by your orientation session. The earlier your orientation session, the earlier you sign up.

edit: ^good timing lol

first years register at orientation, so its dependent on your orientation time
