Is it possible to only selectively transfer your AP credit. Like, just xfer my credit for euro/US to get the points but not calc or chem (since I have no intention of taking intensive g chem or calc II). If so...that'd make my life.

i assume the reason you want to do this is because you possibly got(or expect) a bad grade on an AP test...kind of have to ask why bother tho, i mean, no one is going to say "oh he got a 2 on his ap chem exam, he must be stupid" so i wouldnt worry about it...just send them

besides, you can take whatever courses you want so dont worry about them placing you into things if perhaps you got a really good grade

No...I got 5's on both exams. I just don't feel confident in my calc skills to take calc II or if I remember any chem to do remotely well in int. gchem (although I think the site said that requires a placement test).

You don't have to take any and every credit they offer you; the summer after your freshman year, they send you a letter or e-mail about what credit you are eligible for. They wait until after freshman year to give you a chance to take some of those intensive g chem or calc II's if you want. You pick which credits you want and which you don't.

Nobody forces to take a more advanced math or science class than you want to take.

Yeah exactly, but what they will probably say is that if you take the math class at columbia that is at the level of AP calc, and you've taken AP calc with a score high enough to get credits, then you can't get those AP credits and you can only get teh credits assigned to the class

but thats not really a big deal

It doesn't matter... all AP credits go to electives anyway, and not to any particular major. If you got a 5 on AP Euro then you'll get 3 elective credits; if you got a 5 on AP Calc AB you'll get 3 elective credits. There is absolutely no difference.

And you don't get the credits until you take one of their courses. Nothing to worry about.
