AP Credit Question

I'm just a little bit confused by the AP Reference table here.

For the AP Statistics exam, it says that getting a 5 on the AP test gives you 0 units of AP but replaces the Economics 202 class. What exactly does that mean? I thought 0 units of AP meant that you don't get credit for it, but now I'm a little confused and I'm wondering if I should actually take the test.

If someone could clarify on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

take it. econ 202 may be a prereq for other econ courses, and with a 5 on the stats ap, you won’t need to take econ 202 as a prereq.

So you actually do get credit? Then what does “0 units of AP” mean? Or is it one of those things where you don’t actually get the credit but you don’t have to take the class as an prereq either?

The prerequisites to declare an Economics concentration are Micro, Macro, and 202. If you 5 Micro, Macro, and Stats you have already cleared those requirements.

Ok, I think I got it now, thanks.
