Would it be a good idea to AP out of Physics 7A with AP Physics C credit (5 in mechanics last year) and start in the fall with Physics 7B, or would it be better to take Physics H7A in the fall? I have enough math to do Physics 7B without having to wait for my math to “catch up” to my physics.

Things to consider:
I am a prospective engineering/physics major so I will definitely be building on top of Physics 7A material.

I’m rusty at mechanics and will be even more rusty next year.

I dout that the AP physics curriculum is as deep or as hard as Berkeley’s curriculum.

Is Physics 7A a weeder class? (If it is, it is probably a good idea to skip out of it).

How does Physics H7A compare to Physics 7A?

It's recommended that you should retake the courses even if you can get out of them via ap scores if the course it related to your major- because #3 is very true, or so I have heard.

ap physics c material is identical to 7a. the problems are a bit harder on the midterms and finals but thats about it

65% get a's and b's (set by the department). not too many people get d's and fails, although many people will be in the C-B range, lowering your gpa

material is a lot harder, but it's worth if it you have a 5 on the ap test. theres no point in taking 7a again if you got a 5; you wont learn anything new

if that's your intended major, I wouldn't recommend passing out; use AP's to pass out of lower division breadth requirements so you can take other electives, or take the Honors ver of Physics.

pertaining to this subject, is there a site that says which credits you get for which ap's for the college of engineering? i have only seen the credit site for L/S.

go to engineering website, on the right side.
