I'm planning on majoring in Human Development and one of my required lower-division major classes is Statistics. I'm planning on taking the AP Test, if I get a 4 or a 5 will I be able to get credit and fulfill this requirement? Or since it is for my major will I still have to sit through Intro to Stat all over again?

[Advanced Placement Credit](http://www.ucsd.edu/catalog/front/APCredit.html)

use that link to check how AP credits are transferred for your particular college. If AP stats would exempt the intro stats class you’re talking about, then you wouldn’t have to retake it.

It would clear my GE requirement for ERC, I checked, but I don’t know if it would also clear that same requirement for my major because it’s a lower division requirement.

I’m pretty sure it will. I know math cleared some of my lower division requirements as an engineer.

Tip: The online advising on TritonLink was an extremely useful tool before i came to UCSD. They’re usually pretty good on replying quickly as well.

Is it possible to graduate from UCSD in 3 years with a bunch of college credits/AP credits?

Yes, and you dont even need a bunch of AP credit for it. Many times, AP credits don’t even transfer over to your GEs and major requirements.
