Does AP credit count toward satisfying general ed (distribution) requirements at Pitt, or is it just elective credit?

It can fulfill requirements. But many AP classes fit other places. History and Econ fill gen ed. It also depends on the major. Engineers do not get as much AP credits as other majors.

Here’s a good link that explains about AP credits and which classes the credits can replace: [General Academic Regulations | Undergraduate Bulletin | University of Pittsburgh](http://www.bulletins.pitt.edu/undergrad/4gen_academic.htm)

For Engineering, you can redeem unlimited math and science (except for Statistics…which is so stupid because then you have to take it again…arhsakldjalskjdaslkd). For humanities, you can only redeem 2 APs towards your major requirements. And the ones you are allowed to redeem are limited: http://136.142.82.185/freshman/advising/apcredit.html
