AP credit

Quick question, guys, please help! I'm currently enrolled in Italian 5 AP at my school. This class is also considered a SUNY Albany class, and since I signed up for that, I get 4 transfer credits from SUNY Albany, which I have an A in.
So, since I definitely will be getting these 4 credits from Albany, is it worth it to take the AP? I doubt that any school will take both the AP credit and the SUNY credit, and I don't want to waste money if I don't have to...

What do you think?

Look up the schools you might attend to see if any would give you more/better credit for the AP than the college credit (possible because some colleges do not give credit for college credit earned before graduating from high school).

Placement in Italian language courses in college is likely to be separate from getting credit, since college language departments typically have their own placement procedures and testing, to account for variations in what high school and college language courses teach, variations in actual ability for the same AP score, and heritage speakers.
