AP Credit?

So I’ve been getting mixed feedback on this. Planning on majoring in Biomedical Engineering on a pre-med track. Couple of current BMEs at BU say not to AP out of the sciences (gen chem/bio/physics) and only use credit for calc I and II (taking BC Calc right now). PharmD students around the area say to “AP out of everything you can” in order to free up slots for easy classes freshman year and get your GPA up. Taking into account the rigor of of classes like CH 101/102, BI 108/118, and PY 211/212 at BU, do you suggest I should AP out or retake them in preparation for some of the harder classes (I’m looking at you orgo, differential eqs., and thermodynamics) and eventually medical school?

Scores: Chem- 4, World History- 5
Currently Taking: Bio- predicting 4/5, Psych- 5 almost guaranteed, BC Calc- probably 5, Physics C Mechanics teetering between a high 4 and a low 5, Physics C Electricity/Magnetism- predicting 4ish

Thanks and make it a great day!

Medical schools look at one set of classes ONLY, if that is your goal, take those and get the highest grade you can.

They are Biol 1-2, Chem 1-2, Phys 1-2, Orgo 1-2 ( all with labs associated) If you AP out of these they will ook at other grades in these tracks such as Anatomy/Physiology ( for bio) Biochem for Chem, P-chem for O-chem. Therodymanics/etc most of these are at the 3 yrd year lever and a bit more of a challenge.

THe olwer leve course are the one syou will see on the MCAT, so it helps to take that after finishing

ace the MCAT get As in those elematary levle courses ( and they WILL take the lower level of those if you can take those in your major. Med schools care about little else.
