AP Credit

UNC literature says that AP Calc AB is 3 credits and the BC is 6. Even if you take both the AB and BC do you still only receive 6 credit hours? Or is it 9? And, what is the standard number of freshman credits?

Yes you only get 6 hours if you take both AB & BC, since AB gives you Calc I and BC gives you Calc I & II.

"What is the standard # of freshmen credits?" as in..."What is the average # of AP credits most freshmen come in with?"

No, how many credits do students take per year, on average.

I've also been wondering that. Right now I have 6 hours thanks to AP US, but I hope to get a 3 atleast on AP Stats and hopefully a 3 on GOPO. I've basically given up on English, I'm just not talented enough for a 5.

I would have to say maybe 15 hours/semester is the average...

Oh and chillmandan...
Only 3 of those 6 hours of AP US will really be useful (i.e. fill a "General College" requirement), since you can only count one US history for a History Perspective (though I guess the other 3 could be used as a free elective if you don't have the 120/123 hours to graduate). Then again with the new curriculum for next year, who knows...

And for English, I believe, you only need to get a certain score (somewhere in the 700s? on the Verbal on the SAT) to skip all the English classes. Though if that's AP English Lit and not Lang that you're referring to, then you could use that for the Literature Perspective. Oh wait, new curicculum...

The attached link describes the new curriculum--middle of page:

I thought they got rid of the swim test

They did get rid of it.

Ugh, the whole cirriculum and requiements is so confusing i'm not even worrying about it until ctops.

Word of caution, apparently both NCSU and UNC advisors are notorious for not being very good about making sure that you meet all your riquirements within four years, you NEED to keep up with all that stuff yourself.
