hey - does anyone know how AP credit is given out, and if credit exempts you from a course or just qualifies you to take a higher level?

I don't really want to take all my AP exams if NYU does not give you college credit for everything that you scored a 4/5 on.
Anyone?

you get credit for 4's and 5's. they do not exempt you from many classes though (you get mostly elective credit i believe), im not sure about qualifiying for higher level.

im not too sure about anything besides they say they take all 4's and 5's

Be prepared to fight for credits if you want them.

What NYU will try and pull is recognise an equivalent course, accept it to fulfill their own requirements, and, at the same time, give ZERO credit for it.

In the end, you wonder, what was the point? Basically, you're just freed up to get the credits somewhere else.

So, as I said, be prepared to fight.

Thank you, Unrealfire. With their caveat:

Please use this as a guide and understand there may be minor differences in how your credit is eventually awarded depending on the program of study you will follow at NYU.

I suppose they are letting you know not to count on the credit.
