AP credit

When and where do we apply for placement exams and get credit waived for taking AP classes?

The provisions of your admissions contract demand that you send Berkeley your AP score report through the official AP channel (if you’re taking APs this May, you can have this done for free by selecting the Berkeley code on your APs.) Placement tests are department-based.

So after I send in the APs, would I get contacted in August regarding placement exams and such?

Placement exams for what? Foreign language? If you took 3 years of a language and got a C in the last year, you’ve satisfied the FL requirement and only need to take the placement if you want to continue/start studying a language in college. In that case, contact the department. Math? You don’t need to take a placement exam, but you can if you want to by contacting the math department.

placement is based on your ap scores. ex. you get a 4 in calc bc, you can either get refreshed with calc 1a/16a or take 1b/16b, but you cannot go ahead to 53/54. also, telebears (the system that handles class registrations) will probably not check to see if you have taken the pre-req classes
