I know what credit uMich gives for which tests, but I am not sure of what it actually does, because I have heard mixed reviews on this site. For example, if I get my 10 hours from Physics B, does that satisfy my science requirement or do I still have to take 9 hours of it, just at a higher level of physics?

AP Credits do not count towards your distribution requirements (they can count for the the QR req and some foreign languages, but I believe that is it).

Hmm...i don't even think they count for QR mike.

You're right kb. I was thinking of transfer (college courses) on that one. Here is a useful link:

Does the same thing apply for Engineering? It seems like that is just for LSA.

Right, the QR, foreign language, etc. is only for people in LS&A. Engineering is pretty clear-cut, because there's a whole lot less freedom in what classes you take (as far as I know, everything is mandated with the exception of your SS, HU, free electives, tech electives, and in the case of aerospace majors an advanced math/science class). SS & HU make up 16 hours, free electives and take electives about 20, and advanced math/sci up to 4 hours. So only 40 of 128 credits has really any flexibility.
