AP Credit

I was just accepted to UC Irvine (Yay!) and had a question about AP credit. My major is Business Information Management

Link of classes I would have to take:
Interdisciplinary Studies

I was wondering if I should take AP Micro and Macro exams this spring. Will I not have to take Economics 20A and 20 B if I receive a 4/5 on the AP test? Or will they still be required since they are part of my major (i.e., only receive elective credit)? (I'm just confused about how receiving credit works if they are required classes for one's major)

If you don't know the answer, is there a certain number I should call so I can get an answer from Irvine?

Read the Credit Allowed Toward Degree section of the PDF for restrictions.

For Macro, 3 gives you elective units only; 4 or 5 gives you credit for Economics 20B but may not replace School of Social Sciences requirements for the bachelor’s degree.

Thanks, I read that part. I was just wondering since my major is business (with computers) and I would have thought one would have to take econ over if one’s majoring in business… weird
