AP credit

I am a business student who will be entering Olin this fall. I was told in my visits and by friends that Olin accepts up to 30 AP credits as opposed to ArtSci's 15. I was wondering if anyone could confirm for me what number it actually is.

According to this link, no.

ArtSci: 15
B-School: 15
Arch: 15
Art: unlimited
Engineering: unlimited

This may be a new policy for Olin- I’m an engineer so I only really know engineering policies.
In other words, they may have accepted up to 30 in the past, but no longer do.

Olin was 30 units max 3-4 years ago. Then it changed.
Engineering is also in the process of becoming 15 units max and will likely be in place for the class of 2015.

It’s at the point where most APs no longer offer credit though. 6-7 years ago, a score of 5 on an AP guaranteed credit, although some required you to take higher level courses first to get it. I’m sure in 5 years time there will be no AP credit at all, and it will just be used to skip intro classes, which is a real shame.

I have never quite understood why anyone would take 7 or 8 APs knowing the schools weren’t going to give credit. Better to go somewhere that accepts that much hard work then. It’s a pity if Wash U does away with AP credit altogether.
