I am interested in applying to transfer to another UC for the fall of 2015. However I have 44 quarter/~30 semester units from APs and I was wondering if those could potentially bar me from being able to transfer as they would push me over into senior level standing if I continue to take an average course load each term up until the time I transfer.

AP Scores do not contribute to the maximum unit count needed for transferring or for graduation from a UC, so you’re definitely OK in that regard!

Source: I took 9 AP tests and am applying to transfer right now and they do not count towards the maximum unit limit, as told to me by a UCLA admissions counselor.

The fourth paragraph on that page will ease your fears! :)

what @ale2194 is correct and i also believe that there is not actual unit cap for cc students as long as all of the classes are from a cc and not a four year university, but don’t quote me on that cause they may have changed things or something. its just that only a max of 70 of your totals units will transfer over (semester units, idk the numbers in quarters sorry)
