I was wondering how AP credits transfer to UCLA.
I am an incoming freshman majoring in pre business economics.
I got a 4 in Micro, a 3 in Macro, and a 3 in Bio.
Would I be able to get out of any classes with these results?
- I took micro and macro may of 2020, so hopefully that does not impact anything.
Based on the linked page above, you would get 16 quarter units if you do not take any college courses covering similar material (UC policy is not to give credit more than once for courses and AP credit covering similar material).
However, UCLA subject credit gives only LIFE SCI Unassigned and ECON Unassigned for those scores, so you would not be able to count them for subject credit or advanced placement where a specific LIFE SCI or ECON course is required.

So does that mean I would be able to get out of econ 1, econ 2, or econ 11?
You would not be able to get out of ECON 1 or 2 if those specific courses are required because your AP scores are listed as ECON Unassigned instead of ECON 1 or 2.

ahhh, ok. Thank you for the response.
@ucbalumnus - is it possible to get credits for a completed community college course and then also take the same course again at UCLA?
If the courses cover substantially similar material, UC policy is to give credit only once.
