AP credits for "required courses"

Hi there,

I’m a potential transfer, and I’ve noticed that certain schools and certain programs require applicants to take required courses to be considered for admission. One such example is Calculus 1. I have AP credit for BC calculus which gave me credit for taking that class at my current school (University of Michigan). Will this suffice for my transfer application? USC Marshall is one of my top choices and is one example of a school with a specific requirement for this class. Am I screwed?

According to this webpage, USC grants AP credit to transfer students. So you’re most likely not screwed! However, if I were you, I’d double check by calling admissions at USC.

Best of luck!

Check the AP policy at each of the target schools you want to apply to.
