AP credits

In the Brandeis AP credit document, it says test scores count either as 1 semester course credit or 2.

Does this mean it counts as a full course (i.e. 4 credits) or only 1 credit. I am a bit confused because most colleges offer 3, 4, or 8 college credits for an AP test.

You’re allowed to use up to 4 of those AP test credits, where it says 1 credit, it really means 4 Brandeis credits. So 2 AP credits would be 8 Brandeis credits.

Ah, so 1 credit is really one course credit (4), not 1/4 of a course credit.

I believe the maximum credits you can bring in as a freshman is 16 credits, no matter how many AP/IB tests you pass or how many community college classes you pass. That is my understanding. We will be visiting on Thursday and I hope to get clarification on this very issue.

Yes you’re allowed a maximum of 16 credits. You cannot graduate Brandeis in less than 7 semesters (works differently for transfers). So including summer classes not taken at Brandeis along with IB/AP only 16 credits can be used.
