AP Credits

I have a pamphlet for the college of chemistry and it has a chart for what each AP test will give you. They have the possible waived classes next to each score of each test and it is clear what class credit you can get. But my question is about the units. Under each AP test, even ones that wont waive any classes, it has a unit worth. For examply Chemistry it has marked as 5.3 units.

My question is wether a 3, 4, or 5 makes any difference in the units recieved?

No, you receive the same number of units regardless of your score (assuming it was a 3 or higher).

I think these fractional units come about because the UC's are
trying to equate 1 semester unit = 1.5 quarter units. Thus an AP class
that gives 5.3 units at Cal gives 8 units at UCLA.

Is there a limit on how many units you can get from AP tests?
