I'm enrolled in Pratt and am a bit confused at the AP policy. I understand that Duke will take only 2 AP tests to satisfy credit for the humanities courses. I already have US history and only need one more. I signed up to take both U.S. and Comparative Gov/Pol, but when I reread the credit list, the tests are stared saying "** Will not count toward fulfillment of the major requirements. " I know might sounds obvious, but I want to make sure that even if I do get a 5 on this test...it's not going to count for anything? If that's the case I'm betteroff getting a refund and concentrating of passing Calc BC.

anothe question... does AP credit count toward pre-med requirement too??

this whole only-two-ap-credit rule really sucks. i'm gonna finish high school having taken 9 ap tests (which is basically like 10 because calc bc gives you an ab subscore) and i can only use 2? what was the point of me spending all that money and time on them then? x___x i could probably get sophomore standing at chapel hill with those credits..

yeah it really sucks - i'd have credits for 6 humanities courses and i got really upset that i could use only 2 (because apparently i thought i could use more in pratt).

hmm.. thats strange.. i'd like to know more about that too cause i'm taking govt as well. when i first saw that, i interpreted it as people majoring in political science. now i'm not so sure anymore. :(

I think you should call Connie Simmons at Pratt (her picture and phone number are on the Pratt website) and she will give you the definitive answer. I remember her saying at Blue Devil days that Pratt was different than Trinity re: AP credits and not to be confused by the info you see on the website ... but I don't remember the details of the differences between what the two schools accept.

I just called her office and she was unavailable right now, so I also dropped her an email. Hopefully someone will respond soon since the test is like two weeks away!

Haha, i just emailed her too!!! :P

I'm looking at my advisement report, and it looks like they counted it under humanities, but then they listed American Government twice, so that might be something weird.

does it count under SS?? i really want that to be filled, and CZ, so i can just take art classes for a minor

"We will count only two of your advanced placement credits toward satisfying the SS/H requirement. If you would like to count your Political Science advanced placement credit toward satisfying the SS requirement it would count. In the Political Science department advanced placement credits will not count toward their major."

YAY!!!!!!

Does anyone know if AP Statistics could count at Pratt for a humanities class? Probably not, huh?

Can Ap Stats count anywhere for advanced placement - I know you cannot place out of the stats course that engineers take so where else could it be used?

it doesn't place you out of stat 101 for public policy majors

AP Stats doesn't get you anything, sorry
