<p>Should I take AP Computer Science as a freshman? I can learn JavaScript online this summer. If I do, is it possible I get an A(while taking other rigorous classes and participating in sports/clubs)? There's also an OPTIONAL pre-req class called CS principles.</p>
<p>If not, should I do an intro course in the career pathways(EX: Intro to Healthcare Science, Business Essentials, etc..)</p>

<p>I took AP Comp Sci this year as a freshman, and it was completely fine. I was able to succeed in it without prior experience in Java while maintaining good EC’s, a satisfying social life, and straight A’s with my four AP classes and four honor classes. You should not have a problem, and of course, looking into Java in the summer would certainly be helpful and make you feel well prepared for the AP exam. Good luck! May I implore what rigorous classes and EC’s you’re going to involve yourself in?</p>
