AP data

So I was curious about what are the most and least taken APs.
I managed to find the data on collegeboard.com, and thought it was interesting.
<a href="http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/2013/Program-Summary-Report-2013.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/2013/Program-Summary-Report-2013.pdf</a>
I was surprised that Language and Composition is the most taken AP exam, as it isn't even offered at my school.

Here are the total number of each exam taken, sorted.
2013 TOTAL

ENGLISH LANGUAGE & COMP. 476,277

JAPANESE LANGUAGE & CULTURE 2,234
ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE 1,980

What do you think of it?

It’s mostly just based on what high schools offer, but I’m surprised that Macroeconomics has so many more takers than Microeconomics.

Rather surprised Calc AB is so popular. Only about 30 (out of 160) kids per class take it in my school, and the vast majority (25-27) take it for CC credit rather than AP test.

I’m also surprised they still offer Italian, Japanese, 3D Art, and German (maybe Latin as well) with so few test takers.

That’s true for the most part, though the list based on number of schools that offer it is slightly different:

That’s a pretty accurate snapshot of the number of kids in those APs (at least those that are offered) in my school.

I’m surprised Chemistry and Biology AP’s are so popular.
