AP Dilemma

Gee, take what you want to take. If you are heading for engineering by all means take physics. If you are not interested in physics, take what your prefer. You have 5 other AP classes.

Take physics if you are going for engineering.

NOT taking AP Physics and going for engineering at an Ivy or other top school will mean you avoided it.

My son is going for computer engineering, and he was told that he needed both AP Calc BC and AP Physics to “be considered”.

Of course colleges know that APES is a “low ball” course, and unless you are going into the environmental field, appears to be an “easy A”.

What are you exchanging if you do put the work in to get an A in physics? Could you meet with the teacher regularly or a study session to stay on track?

You aren’t guaranteed admission to any very selective school, so what you do do probably does not matter.
