I really want to do CMU's AP/EA program this summer, but I was wondering if you had to be a minority to apply for their diversity program?
I'm a white female, but I'm also from Belarus, so maybe that might count for some diversity?
Also, where do you get the application form for this program? I can't seem to find it on the website... :

CMU gives absolutely no financial aid to international students-- including APEA.

The diversity program is designed to attract URMs-- this means AA, Hispanic and Native Americans. White women from Eastern Europe are rare but are not covered by the intent of this program.

Simply apply to the Precollege program instead – it’s about $7000 and you can take 2-3 courses and it includes room and board.
Same courses and open to everyone. There’s about 300 students each summer.
About 5 are from the APEA program- most of the APEA program attends SAMS (about 20-30)

I applied for the diversity program when i was a rising senior… Although I was waitlisted, it really was a bad call. as cmuguy said, it’s really meant for those specific target groups. I’d imagine you may get some preference as a woman if you state an intent to take technical classes.

If you’re looking to experience CMU, pay for the regular program – it’s honestly a decent value in that success will basically guarantee admission as an undergrad.
