AP Econ or AP Art History????

I was thrown into a lame elective for the spring semester and want to petition to do an independent AP study. I’m pretty sure Micro, Macro, and Art History are all one semester. Do you think any of these would be particularly harder to self-study (with an advisor) for in comparison to the others? I took regular Art History my sophomore year but it was a blow-off class. Also, is Macro or Micro generally easier for someone with no Econ experience? AP Grade Distribution is pretty equal for both Econs so I’m not sure if that is representative.

Also - does any of these 3 classes look better than the others on a college app (since they won’t see my grades)?

anyone????

S took AP Art History. He earned 8 units for his AP score (two semesters). I think Art History would be extremely difficult to self study as it is equivalent to two college courses.

AP Art History, hands down. If you only have one semester, go with something you're at least vaguely familiar with.

kinshasa, don't be confused about the number of credits given versus the difficulty of the course. I'm getting 8 credits at UVA for having scored a 4 on my AP US History exam, and I know nothing about US history. Seriously. Especially the years from 1800-1900. I slacked off in that class big time but was able to pull of an A and an OK AP score just from random stuff I've seen on the history channel or read in books on my own.

kcirsch: Take whichever you like more. I'd rather take econ, personally. But if you like art history, go for it. I don't think admissions officers will really care; however, they will note that you took the AP class...
