I know there have been many posts regarding the issue. However, I wanted to ask this anyway for further clarification. Is it possible to self-study both AP Micro and Macro on your own? If so, what book is the best for studying? Any other studying tips would help!

For the AP Econs, I found PR to be the best. I selfed micro this year in one day with PR. It was excellent, concise, and gave me all the information I needed in a way that was understandable.

I did Micro & Macro online, but finished the course in early march, so come May I had forgotten all of it. I reviewed it all a week before the exam using the princeton review guide. Take notes on it and if you have time (which you should- start studying early) make notecards and be sure to study often so that you don’t forget it all. Good luck!

Oh, for the flashcards, include not only terms and definitions, but also equations. Economics is a lot more math oriented than I thought.

What tniemann said–you want quick and easy access to both equations and vocabulary for when you’re studying. Also be prepared for a lot of graphs, if you aren’t already; the amount of equations and graphs threw me off initially, but you get used to them.

tniemann: what online courses did you use?

I self studied both Micro and Macro out of the 5 steps to a 5 book, spent about a month on it (the month before the exam, obviously). I called in a few days ago and got 5s on both, and i thought they were really easy

I started micro like 3 months before with princeton review, then didnt start again until about a week before exam. I studied micro till about 2 days before, then I started macro. Pulled an all nighter the night before the exam cramming and taking practice tests, and got 5s on both. Was an interesting experience… Anyway you just need princeton review and acdc econ videos on youtube.

Crammed micro in 1 night and got a 5 using Barron’s.
