Ap Economics + AP Gov and pace

Hey I'm taking two AP classes on FLVS.net And I was thinking about starting both over the summer and being done by Octoberish. But will finishing really early hinder my success on the exam? I do have other AP classes to take and SAT prep over the summer.

Can you guys please give me your input if anyone happened to finish an AP class that early an dwhat I should do.

Your exam will still be in May right? I doubt you will be able to retain the info for that long.

I don’t know about AP Econ, but with AP Gov, I agree with hahahahah - I don’t think you’ll be able to remember it all that long. I started AP Gov this past December, and by April, I didn’t remember many of the terms from the early chapters. It might work if you keep up with the information by going through Crash Course every week or so, and doing a practice essay every couple weeks.

I took an AP US Gov/AP Microeconomics class this year. AP US Gov lasted from mid-August to mid-November. The rest of the year until the AP exams was used studying AP Microeconomics. We did review for the AP US Gov exam for a couple weeks before the exam. One of those weeks of review was with the class, the other was on my own out of The Princeton Review. Other than the 3 months of instruction and couple weeks of review, I did nothing for US Gov the whole year. I was amazed at how much I actually retained. So no, finishing early will not hinder your scores at all. Just make sure to do some solid reviewing before the exam and you’ll go in feeling very confident.

I’m doing the same thing with AP Macro, the trick is to review periodically to keep the information fresh in your head, and if you do it correctly you will be over prepared by May

Hi Amorestare, I want to apologize - my post sounds more negative then I meant it to be. Here’s what I meant to say:
While I think it may be difficult to remember the early stuff, if you review carefully (and often), it shouldn’t be a problem. I found this year’s test to be fairly easy (although for the FRQ, I was glad I reviewed a few areas I didn’t think would be tested).
