AP Economics as a Sophomore?

I'm really interested in Economics, particularly Microeconomics, and was wondering if my schedule for Sophomore Year is too rigorous, and if I should add AP Economics to it:

Drawing & Composition I & II

Honors British Literature

Honors Precalculus

Honors Orchestra II

Honors Spanish III

Honors Modern World History

(Free track)/(Honors Biology)/(AP Economics)

Q1: Is the schedule too rigorous?
Q2: Which class should I take out of the three possible classes in parentheses? I'm jumping from Honors Physics this year to a free track/Honors Biology/AP Economics class next year because I will be taking Chemistry over the summer at my school.

All advice is greatly appreciated!

Also, something else worth mentioning is that I love math and history, and have always done extremely well in those classes.

My intended major in college would be Economics, and I would like to go to either Wharton or Harvard/Yale/Princeton Business School, then intern for Goldman Sachs or Guggenheim and begin my career in finance/investment banking.

do it!
I’m a sophomore this year yo and I’m taking 8 classes
its definitely doable but you have to have to have to work :D

Ok thanks!

As far as ap classes go, econ is pretty easy mainly because it doesnt cover alot of material. If you dont believe me, go to barnes and noble and look at how thin the study guides are. You will be fine imo.

Sent from my YP-G1 using CC

You’re schedule doesn’t look to rigorous to me because you only have all Honors classes. I am senior taking AP Econ, but I have IB sophomores in my class and they do pretty well. I recommend taking it especially, if you’re really interested in economics. It shouldn’t be too hard with the rest of your classes, in my opinion. And, AP Econ isn’t really all that hard, anyway.

OK, the users on CC are officially insane.

“You’re schedule doesn’t look to rigorous to me because you only have all Honors classes.”

For Christs sake, taking all honors classes is too easy? It’s not competitive? Really?

Your schedule is completely fine. Take out whatever class you think you’ll be less interested in.

that’s a very rigorous schedule. from the options you have, I would say ap econ is easier than honors bio. how many honors classes did you have as a freshman? how much of a jump would it be? if it’s harder than your schedule last year, which I’m guessing it is since you were a freshmen, I would suggest taking free track. I’m guessing you can take ap econ junior or senior year too?

and you’ve just figured this out now? :p

Take Honors Bio because you need a science

@agreatperhaps CC users are not insane. Everyone just has a different interpretation of rigor. I don’t happen regard Honors classes as rigorous, but that’s me and I gave my opinion on what I think.
@IvyLeague2020 I guess I should’ve told you to just think about what you can handle. If Honors classes are hard to you then take AP Econ your senior year because you might not be able to handle it now. I guess I assumed too much.

Yeah right now as a freshman I’m taking 3 honors, so jumping to 4 honors and an AP shouldn’t be too hard.
