Has anyone here at cc taken AP Econ (micro and macro) online? if so, which program did you go through, and how difficult was it compared other AP classes (or just classes in general)

anyone?

bump

I'd like to know also :) (bump!)

Ditto x 3.

I've taken Algebra 2 Hon. and Personal Fitness on FLVS, but haven't taken an AP online yet.

It really depends on your teacher and how they present the material. For example, my AP Comp Sci class was better than my AP Bio class because the AP Comp Sci teacher was better at responding quickly to any questions and grading assignments fast. Also my Ap Bio class was kinda vague while my comp sci class was detailed and Exam oriented. But I have heard Micro and Macro are good at FLVS.

hold on....how does taking AP Econ online work?

I took AP macro online through flvs. it was great, i learned a lot, but the thing is it ended 3 months before the ap exam, so i was up the night before trying to cram for both macro/micro. Ended up giving up on macro, got a 3.

The graphs can be a pain in the ass to do on the computer. Next to my micro class (in classroom) i'd say macro made me do a lot more work. But then, i had the teacher's edition, so.

Generally speaking, I found economics to be a lot more theoretical than other classes, basically trying to describe things that aren't so predictable. I have a passion for economics so I'm somewhat biased. the tests are very preparable., compared to other aps. You can learn all the material in a week or so. But the finer points of concepts tend to need examination.

Depends on your instructor, but mine was very ap test oriented, and graded harshly! I think that it's easier to make sure you understand material, and ask questions (like email/call) and to do things in your own time than a classroom course. On the flip side, it's also easier to cheat/slip by/not learn the material and still get an A. Alright, maybe a B+.

I enjoyed it. Did not enjoy the stupid theme they had going on. My friend to this day still makes fun of it.

The first module was like this. Hello! Welcome to Macroislands! This is pineapple airport. Meet Mr. Scarcity. And no it did not really stop.

Towards the end, we had to write a "speech" for the "leader" of the islands and present economics theories and the various ways they combat inflation and why the "leader" formerly the less p.c. "king" should use the idea you support.

lol. I just realized I can still answer the various ways to fight inflation. :D man...:D well i"ve rambled enough. I think you should take it. There's usually a grace period you can drop it within. It's a personal thing, some like it, some don't.
