I have a question for those who have taken these APs or self-studied them:

If I am to do an independent study in school, should I buy an actual economics book to study from, or just buy something like PR or Barrons to study from?

I took the microeconomics self-study while in the macroeconomics class - very similar, so if you know one, you shouldn't have much trouble with the other.

I found that Barron's covered nearly everything - if not everything - on the exam. I would recommend that prep book.

Does that go for micro and macro?

well i am self-study AP economics right now and i use baron's (prep book) and McConnell(textbook).

Alright, thank you.

The Barron's had good review for both micro and macro, but, having already studied macro, I used it mainly for micro.

For macro REVIEW (note, it does not really "teach"), I used Princeton Review.

Get the N. Gregory Mankiw book. Awesome Econ book

Actual Econ book is what I'm using. McConnell and Brue has a good reputation.

No review book can teach you economics, which is why you really do need to buy a textbook. The best is Tollison
