does the ap english course really enhance your ability to write better essays? does it help with the critical reading? just wanted to know how beneficial it is, thanks

The AP English Composition test includes three essays. If you do a good job with all three of those essays, you'll probably do a good job on the SAT essay.

The AP English reading passages and the multiple-choice questions are like hard SAT verbal questions, but the passages and questions are sort of a different style. That's why it's better to practice with SAT-style tests for the SAT and AP-style tests for the AP.

If you want to write better essays and get a better critical reading score, the best way to do that is to practice SAT's, not AP's, and to stop making the mistakes you made on the last practice test.

Doing well in AP English did not improve my verbal or writing in any way.
