Quick question - I figured someone here would know. Can you get credit for both AP English Literature and AP English Language if you get 5's on both?

Thanks!

I’d assume so, since they’re general credits, and since it doesn’t say anything about not not being able to get credit for both on the web site.

that’s what I thought too, but since so many of my friends were talking about how they don’t get credit at their schools for both, I wanted to make sure. :]

Yup, any humanities 5 is worth 9 units of general elective credit.

You only get out of the FEE once, though. :)

Why would anyone take both Language and Lit, sounds like a waste of $83 to me. ; )

actually mollie, considering there are two administrations of the FEE, I suppose one could argue that you get out of it twice… well, maybe not. :P

heh, chris - at my school it costs 100$ per test because they test us at a nearby university and need to pay to rent the room.

The AP credits may decide whether or not you get Sophomore standing, so they’re still useful to have.

I took both Lang and Lit (5’s on both) and was awarded a glorious 18 units of general elective credit. Does it help me? Not really, since I’m a double major and my “units beyond major requirement” are easily covered. Eupseudes is correct in that they do help with sophomore standing, though.
