AP English Langauge Exam

How are you guys getting ready for Eng lang? All I did in my english class was writing essays and reading books, I don't even know the structure of the test. I don't even have a cram book right now, what cram books are you guys using?

Princeton Review is very very effective and I've heard that the questions are representative of what's on the real exam.

first part is the multiple choice, relatively easy for some and really hard for others, depends on how your teacher taught. Then there are 3 essays one that is a DBQ, another focusing on identifying and analyzing the use of rhetoric and a free response. Thats how it was for me last year, good luck.

I just feel the need to point out that there is no DBQ on the exam. It is a synthesis question and different than a APUSH DBQ.

OMG IM GONNA FAIL THE MULTIPLE CHOICE!!!!! My teacher didn't teach multiple choice, like, at all!!!! ahhhhhhh. i'll do fine on the essays though :D.

How accurate are the multiple choice tests in the Cliffs book compared to the real ap test? Our teacher had us take several practice exams, and based on that book, it seems like I need some work.

Also, how helpful are the Barrons and 5 steps lang book?

I'm using the Barrons book simply because my Barnes was out of Princeton Reviews.

just a question:

how is the synthesis question different from a dbq?! D:

you dont need to draw bias or outside info?

oohh okay thanks. wow i almost forgot about that for dbqs -.-;;

haha, is that the only difference?

Hey, for the synthesis, am I only allowed to use info from the 6 samples or can I use outside info to support my statement as well?

You must use outside info in the synthesis essay, I believe, in order to get a top score :)

My English teacher keeps pointing out that synthesis does not equal DBQ. He's given a few different reasons, but the main one I believe is:

Synth: Use (at least) 3 sources (using more does not help)
DBQ: Use 'em all.

...if I remember the others I can explain later.

Just use outside information, like the one for the argumentative essay.

I think I'm ****ed on the Multiple choice unless I finally decide to go over it.
