How did everyone feel about the exam? I felt that the mc was very easy. The questions were much easier than the practice questions my class recieved all year. The content of my answers for the essays were pretty good. But I did not have time to proof read any of them. The time constraint did hurt me on the last essay, but not that much because I would not have had much to say anyway on that topic. However, my peers seemed to have favored the last essay.

I also felt like the mc was ridiculously easy… the readings here definitely readable, and there were no super olden-day passages

MC was a breeze, there was maybe one or two that were guesses (even then I could cut them down to two choices). 1st easy was easy, 2nd wasn’t my strong point, and by the 3rd I had no desire to write anymore (fully expecting a 2 on that one, if they can even read it).

I completely agree with 1st post. I can’t believe how easy MC was, it was much easier than the practice ones that we had in class. I think that there were maybe 2-3 that I was iffy on.
Still, is MC always that easy?
On essays, I felt amazing about 1st and 2nd, and didn’t get a concluding sentence on the third body of my third, so idk…
Definantly feelin a 5, if the 2/3 MC and 6’s on essays score is a 5

How well do you need to do to get a five?

LOL I can’t believe I got that one footnote question right that I know threw a lot of us off. Now I’m really feeling a 5.

This was the scoring for a past exam. It should be roughly the same as this years (maybe ±5).

number correct - [(1/4) x number incorrect] x 1.2980
essay score one x 3.0556
essay score two x 3.0556
essay score three x 3.0556
add mc score with combined essay score
5-110+
4-94-110
3-74-93
2-48-73
1-0-47

Hmmmm…I’m thinking 5. =P MC was fairly easy, essays all went better than expected…I’m pretty happy that I didn’t waste time taking an AP course for this. Yay IB English HL!!! XD

Wait. If I miss five multiple choice and get a 7, 6, and 7 on the essays, I don’t get a five?

I have been so discouraged about this test all year because I repeatedly bombed the multiple choice questions in class. When I was done with the first half of the test, I was seriously thinking to myself “Really? THAT’S it?” I am SO relieved that this is over. Just one more AP tomorrow (World History… yikes) and I’ll be done. But so far, I’ve been anxious over these APs and they’ve been easier than I’ve expected, so hopefully that’ll be true for tomorrow :)

first off i’m asian and i suck at english so i went in thinking i was gonna bomb this test…
and then comes this ridiculously easy mc!!! i’m so happy!
and the essays were god send! we read a short story about the first one a month before and I read about the topic for essay 3 last night. for essay 2, I wrote a whole research paper and the author and his style last year so I had a lot to write.

so over all it was really fortunate!

amy you probably forgot to multiply your MC by 1.2980

you got 123.09 points with your guess, 5

Ohhh yeah I see. My calculator’s being weird. I multiplied it by 1.2980 but it only gives me the right answer sometimes haha. Ok. Clearly I am not a math person. But that’s good. I’m really proud of myself; it’d be quite awful if I did that well and didn’t get a five. Even if I did worse than that, which I probably did, I still think I pulled off a five.

The multiple choice were just beautiful. They really were.

Wooooot, the essay topics were simply beautiful. I was expecting some really specific or convoluted subjects, but the synthesis and argument essay topics were wonderfully relevant and broad and the passage for analysis was very straightforward (and kind of dry, too).

I just hope the MC doesn’t mess up the curve too much.

How much did y’all write?

i actually didn’t write that much because it wasn’t like a history essay so only 11 pages

It’s only been an hour since the test ended and here we all are, lol.

The entire test was super easy.

And BusinessScholar, those numbers seem pretty unforgiving… is it really that hard to get a 5?

I wrote 2 and a half pages for the first and third, a page and a half for the second because I suck at rhetorical essays, lol. I don’t think I wrote nearly as much as other people, but the sample essays I read were around that length =

Would you believe that I talked to three people who didn’t finish the MC? One person told me he only got 3/4 of the questions done, and someone else only got a bit more than half. I finished with about 20-25 minutes to spare, so I took a little nap, but after I spoke with people I started to panic that I missed some huge section! Haha there were 54ish MC, right?

The essays were very nice! I was not expecting #3, but I think I nailed it. We literally did the exact question on the DBQ as a practice in class, so that was lovely.

are all the ap exams this year easier than past years? I took practices for all of the other exams from past years, but the actual tests have been easier in each subject (history, chem, english language). or is it always like this?

@rebeccar,
this is CC, you know. hahah
