I chose it for my schedule, but I am unsure about it.
I suppose I am an adequate writer, and I often get 100% on my essays and did so on my major research essay as well, but I am only in Honors English this (sophomore) year.
However, writing stresses me out. I prefer objectivity and my favored subject is definitely any type of science. I am sure there will probably be many essays required for the class, but I have no idea to what extent (an essay a night? I would have a mental breakdown. an essay a week?)
Should I take it? Is it worth the stress, considering that I have no idea whether I will be able to keep a high GPA in it? (I just don't know the teacher.)

Taking ap lit junior year was the greatest high school academic thing I could do this year. My class is super fun, relatively easy and mature. Ive learned sooooo much! And trust me the essays aren’t stressful. I mean yeah, it’s an essay, but once you get the hang of it you start wanting to write just so you can see your score improve. I’m a very good writer but my first ap essay was a 6 (which scared me). I’ve quickly worked up to 7 and 8s ( a’s b’s). The class focuses on vocabulary, and a TON of lit terms. Essays in my class arent weekly. They come randomly. Like one month well have 3, one we won’t have any. After spring break we have 1 each day for 3 days. I’ve learned a lot in that class, about myself as much as language. I’ve gotten so much smarter as well. My first semester I got a c, second I have a B+. It’s weighted to a b and a. Not too shabby (:

take lit. lang suck

Take the course. I learned A LOT about how to be a good writer, and it has helped me immensely with college essays and other scholarship/internship applications. I was not very good at writing before this class, but it really taught me how to get stuff on paper in a clear, coherent, and unique way.

^^Screw Lit, it’s the bane of my existence.

I’m a math guy, so English isn’t my top subject, but I took Language last year and it was quite manageable. You do learn a lot on how to write convincing arguments/papers, and the AP exam is a breeze if your teacher prepares you well for it.

And you’re getting 100s on your essays. I fluctuated between As and Bs when I was in Honors English. You’ll be fine.

NO. Screw Lit, Language is where its at!

I absolutely LOVED AP Language & Comp. I got a 5 on the exam, but barring that, it was the best decision of my high school career (taking AP Lit, however, has proven to be one of the WORST decisions). Its such a fantastic class

It is the easiest AP class I’ve ever taken. If you can string an intelligent sounding and grammatically correct sentence together, you can easily learn the ins and outs of the AP exam by May.

I think I will stick with it. AP lit is only available for seniors at my school anyway, so I will just be taking it then.

Take the class.

Don’t worry about AP language, you’ll definitely get better at writing in high-stress scenarios during the year.

AP lang is one of the most methodical and pragmatic english classes you can take. You use the same formula for pretty much all the essays and just reuse the same transitions and impressive-sounding words until you get it right. I prefer lit because I think it made me a better writer, but lang was not terrible and I think it’s worth it.

For me, AP Lang was an easy class with a crappy teacher. All we did was write and take tests, without hardly ever going over the things that people were doing wrong. I still haven’t learned anything in the class and we’re three weeks away from the exam. I’m an science-math guy, but I tend to be a good writer as well, so all the in-class essays and tests never bothered me, but the vast majority of my class absolutely despises it.

Take Lang, it’s a good class. The AP test is very easy too.
