If I can consistently score 650 and above on the critical reading portion of the SAT and 750 and above on the writing section, and I learn all the rhetoric vocabulary thoroughly in a couple hours and practice it, can I get a 5 on the AP English Language tomorrow if I keep my rhetoric vocabulary straight on the MC and get at least 40/55 and do well on all three essays (7 and above on each)? Do we need to incorporate our rhetoric vocabulary into the essays or can we just make them very thoughtful? Please consider that points are no longer taken away for incorrect multiple choice questions.

Mc is very much like the SAT CR. writing the essays, not so much like the SAT although it’s good to have basic grammar skills

A 700-720+ on the CR would be a safer guideline for a 5, since the MC questions are a tad harder. Some refer to English Lang MC as SAT CR questions on steroids.

Essays are probably harder than you think. You can’t simply have blabber on about different, complicated rhetorical strategies and expect to get a high score.
