AP English Language Exam Thread

When can we talk about the MC?

I skipped 4…I can’t really say that they were easy because I am such a wild card with MC…They weren’t as boring as the Barron’s passages

Essays…I had the one issue (see post 296) but I did this
Synthesis:3
Analyze:4
Quote:3

thats totes what I did haha
I wasnt focused enough so I ended up not doing the last five question and ommiting like 2 mcs. how well do you think you have to do to get a 5 or a 4?

by the way, we can never talk about mcs…

I’m with you, dreamsofivy. About the same lengths, and my handwriting is big.
And yeah, MC was pretty easy. I had to go back and rethink a few, but I had plenty of time to do so. Ended up just kind of flipping through the pages again with nothing to do for the last five minutes, haha.
Was writing up until the second on the essays, though. Seriously finished my last conclusion right on the dot. Yikes.

The MC was the easiest I’ve seen out of the released exams and review books.

The essays weren’t bad either.

Never? Ah, okay :S

anyway, how well do you have to do in order to get a 5 or a 4?
how many do you have to get wrong in mc and what do you have to get in FRQ?

The MC was a little easy for an AP exam :P. Especially a certain question near the end…

i think my raw score for the MC was 40-45. I worked backwards in the free response section. I answered Question 3 first, then 2, then 1. I spent almost an hour on Question 3, but I think I wrote a very good essay around five pages, so hopefully it’ll be an 8. Question 2, i wrote around 3 pages, I understood the passage and my analysis was decent, so probably 7. But when I got to Question 1, I only had 25 minutes left. I wrote a bs essay that’ll probably be around a 5 or 6 if I’m lucky. Good enough for a 5?

Terrence, I think I know which question you’re talking about. Too bad we MUST never discuss the MCs. haha

For the synthesis essays, can we bring up both the bad and the good or just one?

Haha globe trotter, I smiled when I got to that question :P

If we all agree that the MC were easy, what do you think the curve will be like? I hope it’s not too steep.

Hopefully. But…really…I mean, I felt like…was that it!!!

didn’t like synthesis, haha

Is this typically the reaction to the AP lang and comp exam? I was honestly expecting a least a little bit of a challenge. I kinda wish I hadn’t wasted 3 hours studying pointless literary terms like synecdoche and metonym.

In general, how many MC questions can you omit in order to get a 4 (assuming you wrote good/great essays)?

@globe trotter:

I really don’t think too many tests are like this. I’m just happy I caught the year when it was.

Edit:
@strosfan
Just to be safe, don’t talk about the synthesis for another 48 hours.

Edit Again: Looks like An0maly has it covered.

Just a reminder guys - no talking about specifics of the FRQ until 48 hours. Better to be safe than sorry.

The MC was so easy. I honestly think I got a perfect score. I loved the essays too; the 2nd one was pretty funny, and I wrote well for the 3rd one. I liked the 1st one too, but felt it was kind of boring.

I almost jumped for joy because of the 3rd one! And the 2nd one I loved.
