I am currently a sophomore and in the process of picking out my classes for next year. So far, my schedule is as follows:
AP US History
AP Environmental Science
Accelerated Chemistry
Honors Algebra II
Anatomy and Physiology
AP Spanish
As you probably noticed, I am missing an english, because I am so unsure of what to take next year. I am currently in English 10 Accelerated, which at my school is a step up from honors and is super hard. I get Bs on everything and ended up with a B for first semester, which I was really bummed out about.
With my Bs in accelerated english, do you think it’s a good idea for me to take AP English Lang, or should I just go with American Literature Honors, which is a step down from AP? I really want to get straight As, but I am scared that Ap english next year will blow my chances. Is AP English Language a class that is worth it? Thanks so much!
Yes. It teaches you how to be a better writer, which is a strong life skill. Additionally, it will be invaluable when you are writing essays for college apps.
At my school, AP Lang is known as being horrific. it is supposedly ten times harder than your typical honors English class. From my experience, if you worry about struggling in the class and would like an A, I would suggest your American Literature class.
