We need to figure out how much CC score percentages differ from the overall listings...

Lots of people posting here have gotten 5's, but this is a very small percentage of the 200,000 + test takers who took the AP Lang exam, so...

So we never find out what our essay scores were?

I managed a 5. How, I don't know.

i got a 5 but i expected a 3 or 4 after the test because of the broad essay questions. our teacher was horrible. it was a combo AP/IB class which COMPLETELY followed the IB curriculum (which is based solely on literature).

isnt this the test with lowest % of 5's

I really didn't know what to think of the test, but definitely not that I had gotten a 5. SO, I was really happy and confused to see that I did. Suprising is this is my first 5.

Wow, congrats everyone on the 5's!! Think there's any chance I can get a 3 if I only wrote 2 of the essays (they were pretty good) and expect about 65% correct on the MC?

I got a 4, and pretty much expected it. My last essay was absolutely terrible. I'm a little disappointed, but hey- I think it's definitely one of the hardest AP exams.

seems like the curve was really easy because i was fully expecting a 2 or 3 and ended up with a 5 much like the majority of this board.

I got a 4...I must be a complete idiot...oh well

im too scared to check. im a good essay writer but i ran out of time on one of them (the rushdie one) so....i dunno. i basically just listed rhetorical strategies and devices rather than explaining them in an essay. "on line 56 he uses apophasis, and on line 77 an litote can be found..." i wonder if they will give me any credit for that...what do you think?

You ran out of time? For what? To nap?

But seriously, just listing them wasn't very smart.

don't worry, i ran out of time too. I didn't even start the Rushdie essay... but I'm a good essay writer (I've won some contests) so I'm hoping I did really well on the other too. LiveinLove115: If you got most of the multiple choice right and did amazing on the other two essays, it's still possible to get a 5. My english teacher said one of her students did that once: got most of the multiple choice, didn't even start one essay but got 2 9's on the others. So don't give up yet, you probably did a lot better than you think.

thanks dna, you've made me feel way better. i think i did well on the rest of the test so i've still got a shot.

expecting a 1, got a 3. thank god ap english is dead. =]

i got a 5 as well. the reason for all the fives on the board may be that those people who cared and prepared about the ap exam and worked hard are the ones who would come to this website and post. just a thought.

Reallysorry07, I think that may be applicable to only some people. I didn't care an ounce for AP English and I certainly did not work hard towards the AP (I worked pretty hard to get a not-C for my AP English class though..Got a B+, 89% which completely sucks). I'm thinking the curve was high this year because CB introduced the synthesis essay. I'm assuming CollegeBoard did not know what types of student responses they would get, so they were more lenient in their grading.

i think thats true as well, but i mean at my school the kids who talk about their grades and who would shell out eight bucks to know their scores are more likely to have achieved higher because they cared more. not to say there are not exceptions, but on the whole thats how it normally goes.

I'm expecting a 2. I was experiencing the worst cold symptoms ever, and I found the MC pretty difficult. But then again, my essays weren't too bad.

Two of the readings were really bad....essays were good but do you know if really good essays count more than a good raw score on the MC? I took the course this year and am waiting for my score. I hope i got at least a 4
