AP English Lit FRQ confusion

I’ll try not to be as specific as possible, but… did anyone else realize that the 2nd essay, the prose passage, was supposed to be ironic or something? I thought the daughter was less educated than her dad but apparently not? Idk it was supposed to be ironic i guess. Anyways, hoping I’m not the only one out there that misinterpreted this stupid curveball collegeboard threw at us. But does anyone know how many points an essay that was sort of misinterpreted can get, since I think it’s a pretty dece essay. Thanks in advance

I kind of just discussed their tense/cold exchanges and how in the time they spent apart, they went through different life experiences, which was why they are so disconnected. I didn’t even consider/notice anything about the daugter’s education. She kind of just came across as meek to me.

I’ve seen students get fine scores while being oblivious to this kind of irony, @DinaFRosin , so not all is lost. If your interpretation isn’t off-the-wall crazypants and you supported it with tons of citations, analysis, and reasoning, you might come out okay. Hope it works out!
