AP English Literature (comments after test)

post em here when you are ready

MC was okay.
First prompt was okay.
Second prompt was not okay.
Third prompt... OMG I BOMBED IT! I BS'D AND WROTE ABOUT 1984. I ONLY WROTE ONE PAGE.... AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN 1984.

The stranger didn't work
Metamorphosis didn't work
The things they carried didn't work
I couldn't use the Awakening because it was the prompt (and forgot a few names)
Heart of Darkness didn't work
A prayer for owen meany didn't work
Othello didn't work

***???!

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MC -- okay
first prompt -- iffy, but okay.
second prompt -- loved it
third prompt -- YESS it fit exactly into what i studied for.

MC -- sucked for me (it's usually my strongest point...my grade was totally banking on that and I omitted, like, 10, and I feel I got 10 wrong (I didn't understand the last thing, or the middle thing...lol vague).

essays --
1st prompt: meh
2nd prompt: sucked
3rd prompt: BMOD ME TOO! 1984 AND I DONT EVEN REMEMBER IT THAT WELL! Sooo vague and short....ARGHHHHH

MC was a joke! except the last poem, maybe

why wouldnt the metamorphosis work? i think it would
their eyes were watching god worked splendidly for me

Would totally messing up one multiple choice passage (but doing very well on the rest of the entire exam) prevent me from getting a 5?

MC was crazy
1st prompt - what the hell did u guys write about?
2nd prompt - pretty easy
3rd prompt - great....invisble man worked perfectly for me

i took it more than a year ago so i don't remember all the specifics...just that it was waaaay easier than i thought it would be. my AP english teacher had overprepared the crap out of us, i guess our school just has really high standards (one of the best/most competitive public HS in california). i thought the test was easy.

i love King Lear

MC was easy (last passage was tricky)
1st essay - not too bad but not much to contrast? they are like the same
2nd essay - not too much to analyze, but enough for 2 pages
3rd essay - i used 1984 and i only got 1 page too...not much to talk about :-</p>

anyone used invisble man?

MC was awful. I'm ashamed of my performance. This is the worst feeling ever.

I'm iffy on the MC - I omitted 5 because of time constraints, and some questions I thought were easy and some were hard. Overall, MC was harder than I had hoped... however!

Essays were amazingly easy (for me anyways based on our class work)

FR1 - that poem used we had discussed for about 3-4 days last year, so I knew that perfectly. Thinking 7-8 here, maybe a 9 but who knows.
FR2 - not too bad - I talked about two literary devices and had an interesting purpose of the passage that was a little weird, but who knows. Hoping for at least a 6 here, low of 5.
FR3 - good thing I reread my research paper from last year on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest because that book was the paradigm one to use for that prompt, even though it wasn't listed as a selection. Those of you who know the prompt and have read that book know what I'm talking about. 8-9 for me on that.

So I think I at least have a 3, but no guarantee on a 4 - that's how hard I thought MC was...

I talked about irony and understatement.

where did you see understatement?

are we allowed to discuss the exam?

for the 2nd one, i wrote stuff about irony, symbolism, diction, and syntax. I found that one of the most significant thing from that short story is how they capitalized "occasion"...twas interesting

It was also about isolation between people and awkwardness, even in social occasions.

1st prompt: decent-- 2.66 pages... wish i had more time
2nd prompt: probably my worst essay... 2 and a smidge more pages :)
3rd prompt: dude, i rocked that beast. more than 3.5 on the scarlet letter

1st essay - 2.66 pages - awesome (7-8, maybe 9)
2nd essay - 2 pages, eh... my worst essay (5-6, HIGHLY doubt 7)
3rd essay - 2.25 pages - amazing (8-9)
