<p>I heard you can get 10 wrong and get a 6 average on the essays and get a 5.</p>
<p>haha so I thought the essays were harddddd LOL
not necessarily the last one…but the frikin 2nd one!
I wrote about Wuthering heights as well…the only thing is…we are reading it now…and I’ve only read half of it hahaha
I talked about how Heathcliffe’s exile was in fact enriching in the sense that He comes back sophisticated and rich and Catherine realizes she did him wrong…and the exile’s importance was to emphasize the love that they both had for each other all along and stuff like that
I said it showed how Catherine’s character becomes dynamic upon Heathcliffe’s return
I’m hoping this was a decent answer LOL
I really think I got like a 5 on this one…and like 3’s or 4’s on the others if I’m lucky HAHA
I can’t get credit for this exam anyway…but I didn’t back out because my teacher gave a free 100 on the Wuthering Heights test for those who took it, and she always has harddd tests LOL so I was ALL for that…and it’s good practice I guess haha
Overall, it was kinda hard…MC was pretty easy as well, but Idk I think I did well but everytime I think that on english passages…I do poorly. but this is talking about last year’s mainly haha because we have done like 2 of them this entire year…hahaha I feel pretty positive my answers were right though or if not then it was the other choice I had narrowed it to.
but going into that…I had NEVER seen the format of the exam LOL I didn’t even know we had to write about a book or anything haha so I struggled to finish the essays. I skipped number 2 and came back to it and wrote only a page so I’ll be lucky to pass it all LOL
But like I said…it doesn’t even matter :D</p>
<p>Did my essay on Things Fall apart. I started with “Africa is known as the motherland, but that is a sham” and talked about patriachial society and how okonwo was unwilling to return to his mother’s land for his exile, growth and suicide. I loved it. Used some inside african knowledge. MC was ridiculously easy. I was freaking out but i think i did ok.</p>
<p>Yeah, the AP lit curve is pretty nice. I calculated that, since I think I did well on my essays, I could get 8s on all of them and get only 20 or so questions right on MC to get a 5… I’m feelin’ good, lol.</p>
<p>I wrote 11 pages overall. My hand hurt. A lot. Anyone else count? It was ridiculous though, hah.</p>
<p>OMG, I don’t understand how you guys write so much. I average 12 words a line and I usually do about two pages. Essay 1 was a slightly squished two pages, Essay 3 was two and a third, Essay 2 was one and three-quarters.</p>
<p>3 pages for each essay</p>
<p>I’m a little skeptic as to how I did.</p>
<p>11 pages??? i wrote 1.5 for each essay!!! is that bad? :(</p>
<p>^ are you counting front and back as separate pages? Either way the proctor lady said that quality is more important than quantity.</p>
<p>@arwenundomiel: try not to stress about page numbers, I think. It’s word count that matters. As long as you are getting to minimum 450-ish, you should be good. I don’t think any more than 600 or so could be expected, though it’s not a problem to write more.</p>
<p>no i mean one page front, 1/2 page back. ive written tons an tons of practice essays at home and they were always 1.5 pages (but on college ruled paper) so i dont know. i had a quasi good feeling until now…</p>
<p>i dont know my word count either. we had very little ap practice where the teacher graded our work ap style- like one i did as extra work so i really have no gauge except how i felt about my essays…</p>
<p>^ That should be fine, I always wrote that much in class on the practice essays and I did fine. Don’t worry :)</p>
<p>ok. sigh. i guess theres nothing i can do anyways. and i did prep a lot so no matter how i did, i guess thats just what im capable of. :)</p>
<p>LORD haha yeah that is NUTS
I wrote like 2 on the first and last…with a few lines left…and only one on the 2nd because I didn’t give myself a lot of time haha and I basically had writer’s block on the second one LOL
I had no idea what to even say lmao</p>
<p>Honestly though…I just want a 3 so I don’t have any failing ap grades on my score report LOL
I’m hoping I got that…:D</p>
<p>I feel just OK about the exam. I wasn’t in love with the MC. The essays were ehh.
I really want a 5 but I wouldn’t be shocked with a 4.</p>
<p>If you missed 6 multiple choice questions, but did okay 6 or 7 essays, what score can you get?</p>
<p>What are the benchmarks for a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5? How bad do you have to do to not get a 5 or 4 roughly?</p>
<p>Quality is always better than quantity.</p>
<p>hahaha I wouldn’t be shocked with a 2 lmao
but I am hoping for a 3
I thought MC wasn’t bad compared to the ones we had done in class…!!! haha
and ^ you will probably get a 5 with that!!! haha that’s really good lol</p>
<p>^^ the scale was posted on the previous page…</p>
<p>[(# correct)-.25(# wrong)] x 1.25 = MC Score
[ (Essay 1 Score) + (Essay 2 Score) +(Essay 2 Score)] x 3.055 = Essay Score</p>
<p>Essay Score + MC Score = [some number]/150</p>
<p>150-100 = 5
99-86 = 4
85-67 = 3
66-0 = 1/2</p>
