<p>How exactly can I self study AP English Literature? I was going to take teh class but dropped it b/c 1/3 of the class is going to be about poetry (which I hate!). If I'm looking to get a 5 on the AP English exam next year what are the books I need to buy and read (already know I need to read the classics= novels)? I'm already a very good writer, just wanna know what I can do to prepare for the exam if I'm not taking AP English Lit next year.</p>

<p>I want to be exempted from the Freshman english literature class during my first year of college.</p>

<p>Last year I did take the AP English Lit class and ended up with a 4 on the exam. I also used the Princeton Review study guide book. The most important thing for me was just to learn all the terms in the back. I know you’re going for a 5, but knowing ALL the literary terms was a big help during the exam. You sound like you’re set for the essay portion so I suggest just getting the Princeton Review book. Hope this helped.</p>
