So... I'm in via GSP, and am planning on transferring to CAS for journalism and economics my junior year. I'm thinking about taking the AP English test this May, and was just wondering if this was a good idea.. like would it help me a whole lot at NYU with the extra credits if I scored well?? Obviously it won't affect any admissions decisions, so I'm just wondering if there'll be any benefits from scoring high on the test.

anyone know ANYTHING...?

the ap english exam would not give you credits to satisfy course requirements.

From the FAQ of gsp.

Will I get credit from GSP for AP classes and college courses?

NYU accepts AP credit if you receive a 4 or 5 on the AP test and accepts credit from most colleges if you receive a grade of B or better. Although advanced standing credits may be useful towards the overall 128 credits needed for the NYU degree, they generally do not satisfy specific NYU and GSP requirements. EXCEPTION: A 4 or 5 on the AP test for Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry will meet the general math and science requirements.

Thanks.. I probably won't bother then

I would have to disagree. The credit you get for AP classes do count toward your NYU degree....if you ace the test, the 4 NYU credits you get are much more expensive than what it costs for taking the AP test. These credits will help you graduate early, minor, or double major..thus they can be VERY useful.

I would reccomend taking APs to everyone here.
