I was planning on taking AP enviro on FLVS. The course is new and I've not heard great things about it. However, I'm going to take it anyway just for the GPA boost. This means that I'll essentially be self studying it. On this board I've read that it's one of the easier APs to self study. After doing some research on the previous years' score distributions, it seems that this course has one of the lowest 5-rates out of any AP. Should I let this scare me or just take it anyway?

Don’t let the score distributions scare you away; this is probably the easiest AP exam out there. My only guess as to why the average is so low and why so many people get 1’s is because unqualified people take this class- those that probably shouldn’t be taking AP classes in the first place. I self-studied this test last year as a sophomore and ended with an easy 5. Really, all you need to do is read through PR APES 3 times or so and maybe another review book/textbook and take some practice tests to make sure you get a 4 or 5. This exam should be a piece of cake for you.
