Ap Environmental Science 2011 Official Thread!!

well i’m going into something art related, if not studio art (worried about job prospects), art management/environmental deisgn/nonprofit management

i have a relatively strong curriculum, test scores, and gpa. not ivy league level, but strong enough. senior year i’m signed up for ap literature, ap psych, ap stat, ap enviro, and ap studio. i’ve taken ap world, ap art history, and ap language
should i opt for calculus or a harder science ap? i’m not really a math/science person…

sorry for the thread invasion…

Well if you’re going into the field they’ll definitely make you take their version of Intro to Environmental Science especially if you go to a good school.

AP Stat should be good for 2 easy As but if you want to show strength of schedule go for Calculus. I wouldn’t suggest signing up for Calculus if your college is going to see your senior grades though…

But anyway…

Let’s get back on topic…

Anyone who has the released 2003 or 2008 AP Enviro Multiple choice PLEASE send them to me at the-lord-of-light@hotmail.com

I’d be willing to trade numerous other released AP tests and the answer keys etc.

^…I’m pretty sure trading exams was not the topic…

^ Second that.

I sort of suck at Science, and barely got an A in Advanced Chem last year (93.67% lol), so I’m taking AP Enviro as a full class this year.

My teacher is pretty good only because he’s been teaching the class for a long time, and he makes the MCs insanely hard on his tests, asking all these random statistics that sometimes aren’t in the books and notes; however, then when I look at the AP Enviro PR review book I have, the MCs are a completely joke and I get all of them right at the end of each chapter.

My question is…

Are the MC questions in the AP Enviro PR book easier, harder, or about the same difficulty as the ones on the actual exam?

Im using 5 steps to a 5 for self study…it helped alot for Bio last year. I also just purchased the Kaplan book, anyone know anything about it?

Ugh -___-
My school won’t let me take APES anymore.

hey im taking the apes retake on the 18th

Do you think the 2nd form will be harder???

Nope it’ll probably be the exact same. And even if it is harder for some reason, that just means the curve will be easier.

^ No, it won’t be the same test but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be harder than the originally scheduled one either.

I meant exact same difficulty sorry poor wording

I am using the Princeton Review APES book and I find it very helpful for the class, but thats probably because my teacher co-wrote it. I think it does a decent job covering and assessing all of the material.

a tip to all of you: this is the easiest AP ever. I didn’t even take the class, just bought a review book and read over it the night before the exam. Y’all really don’t need to sweat it

My school decided to split the mock into three sessions.

1st for MC
2nd for 2 Essays
3rd for Remaining 2 Essays

Today we did the first two essays. I answered the questions pretty well in paragraph format. However, I forgot to mark each paragraph a), b), etc. Will I get points deducted? I’m asking because I’m not actually in the class and probably won’t have a chance to ask the teacher tomorrow.

Really though, this IS the easiest “hard” test I’ve ever taken. I’ve “studied” a total of 5 hours. By that I mean I’ve gone through the PR ES book and filled three index cards with info, but I only didn’t know two things out of 70 on the MC exam. And I’m pretty sure I scored higher then the majority of the students actually taking the class.

How’s everyone doing?

AP World History is holding me back from pursuing my APES/AP Psych studies as far as I’d like. I’m using PR + Smartypants Guide to Env Sci (the preferred review book before PR took over). I’m hoping to split time for self-studying so I have time to get through my 2 APES books and review Barron’s Psychology twice, and go through my AP World review books (I’m taking the APWH class and we have three AP Exam review days. What is with that -_-). April is going to be rough.

Hey guys, do you think it is possible for me to self-study APES in my sophomore year, without having ever taken an AP science class before?

I’ll be taking it in conjunction with Honors Chemistry.

Thanks

^You could, but it’d be easier if you’ve already taken Biology.

^^ That’s exactly what I’m doing right now, I’ll let you know how it goes haha

^ OK Piedpilko, PM me and tell me how it went after u take the exam
